Why Do We Do It?
From leaving the services the team at Woodland Xperiences have recognised how much the outdoor environment has personally helped us and our transition into civilian life. We all came together to build and utilise the woodland space to create a safe non judgmental environment to help our growing community to benefit as we have.
Our personal mental well-being is key to our survival and not forgetting our families and friends who have been there for us and shared our experiences, being our rock for recovery and strength for support. Without them who knows where we would be...
Where Are We?
We are based close to Kirkby Stephen, ideal for adventures in both the lake district and peak district. Adventure on our doorstep. Camp centre is only a short drive from junction 38 on the M6. A very scenic journey to be welcomed at camp on arrival.
Our locations are key to providing outdoor adventure and activities for our community.
Help Us, Help You
Every day, those in our Armed Forces, emergency services, and Veteran communities face invisible battles that often continue long after their service ends. Through immersive, nature-centered programs, we help combat isolation, rebuild family bonds, and offer a safe space to process emotional wounds like moral injury that many struggle to bear alone.
With your support, we can offer veterans and emergency responders a path to healing, resilience, and renewed connection. Each donation helps us provide these brave men and women a sanctuary where they can rest, reflect and rediscover the strength within themselves, surrounded by nature and a community that understands. Together, we can help ease their burdens and offer hope where it's needed most.
The Woodland Xperience Ethos
We all stare at the dancing flames, hypnotic as they are. If we could read them they would be telling their own stories and adventures!
Taking time out from the treadmill of work and life is fundamental in maintaining a balanced healthy mind and body. People from all walks of life experience traumas and conflict which can have a detrimental effect on our mental and physical health. Which in turn is then put to one side but boils away within us without us sometimes knowing, ready to explode at any trigger affecting close family, friends, relationships, work and unconsciously ourselves.
Building on and considering research, thoughts, and findings of others together with personal experiences of prolonged exposure to the outdoors, Woodland Xperiences was created, to assist with Post Traumatic Growth.
